Spinhenge@Home

This project gets a computation error:

<core_client_version>5.10.32</core_client_version>
<![CDATA[
<message>
process exited with code 127 (0x7f, -129)
</message>
<stderr_txt>
metropolis_3.12_i686-pc-linux-gnu: error while loading shared libraries: libglut.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
</stderr_txt>
]]>

I’ve added a symlink:

ln -s /usr/local/lib/libglut.so /usr/local/lib/libglut.so.3

But I can’t see if it works, since the Spinhenge@Home server won’t send new work so soon.

Update: Well, it probably should have been a linux-style

ln -s /usr/local/lib/libglut.so /usr/lib/libglut.so.3

Which, again, points out that /usr/local/lib/libglut.so.4 is not a Linux object. Of course not.

So I downloaded this file, as pointed out in this thread, and then tried doing ldd on the executable, too. It showed more dependencies, that I have also downloaded. Then it showed even more dependencies. I gave up. Maybe I’ll try finding them later. Or maybe I’ll just try compiling the Spinhenge for FreeBSD. Or maybe just drop the whole thing.
